Gustav “Goose” Gratzer is one of the longest-tenured, and most successful coaches at Strikers FC Irvine. He was a member of one of the first Irvine Strikers teams and went on to complete a stellar 4-year collegiate career at University California Irvine. Upon the completion of his degree at UCI, Goose began coaching with Strikers FC Irvine, in addition to teaching Physical Education at Fairmont Private School. He is now the Technical Director of Fairmont’s Athletic Academy soccer program, based at the San Juan Capistrano campus. This is a program that is soccer-focused for 6th-12th grade kids. The program consists of them going to school for half the day, and the other half, they focus on soccer and strength and conditioning. They also have advanced analytics to help individualize each student-athlete’s soccer training. He has worked with every age group team, both boys and girls, and now focuses on developing the younger boys program at Strikers FC for the Pre-Academy age groups. He also previously coached at Woodbridge High School in Irvine, winning multiple CIF Titles.
